Prime Minister-designate Siegfried Muresan said on Wednesday, addressing the joint plenary session of the two Houses of Parliament, that he wants Romania to have a modern state and strong citizens.
'Today I am proposing a modern state for strong citizens. Today we are telling people how we see Romania today and what we will do to make things even better in our country tomorrow. Today I am presenting you with a project for Romania and you will decide whether we move forward on this path,' Muresan said.
The PM-designate added that he had come 'gladly' before Parliament to present the governing programme, the full list of the Government and his vision for Romania.
He said that he has been a Member of the European Parliament for more than 12 years and knows how important legislative work, dialogue with citizens and representing them are.
'I want you to know that I want a strong Parliament. I want the Romanian Parliament to be a strong institution and I want the most important decisions for Romania to be made here, through your vote. I will always be fully open to the legitimate proposals you put forward and to you as elected parliamentarians and I will work closely with the Romanian Parliament,' he said.
