Alexandra Capitanescu, Romania's representative at Eurovision 2026, where she won third place, has released her first album in English, 'Choke Me', Universal Music Romania reported on Monday.

Capitanescu and her band, consisting of Bogdan Stoican (guitar), Matei Cohal (bass), Luca Sofron (drums) and Thomas Circota (keyboards), propose a sound that combines alternative rock with contemporary pop influences.

'The album 'Choke me' is like a mirror: we wrote the songs, you give them meaning. We want this album to show that the beauty of music is just that: people listen to and interpret the songs in thousands of ways, because each of us passes the song through our own filter of emotions, traumas and experiences. We, the artists, heal ourselves - we put energy, hunger, anger, fear, joy and everything that is difficult for us to express through words,' the band members say.

According to them, 'Choke me' is an album about people.

'It's an unshackled album, released in a world that needs more sincerity and unfiltered, even wild emotions. We don't want to fit it into a single genre. We are a band that wants to experiment, evolve and that doesn't want to have limits when it comes to creativity.'

The album 'Choke Me' includes the songs 'Choke me', 'Heat', 'CMYM', 'Utopia', 'Guilty', 'Restrain', 'Heal', 'I Need You', 'Hollow Heart'.

In physical format, on CD, and on vinyl, the album 'Choke Me' will be released in 2027.

Capitanescu and her band are currently on the European tour 'Here To Obey Me'. The next shows are scheduled for October 19 at the Voodoo Club in Warsaw, Poland; October 20 at Hus 7 in Stockholm, Sweden; October 21 at Kuudes Linja in Helsinki, Finland, and on October 24 at Stroeja in Sofia, Bulgaria.
