The PSD leadership received on Tuesday a mandate from the National Permanent Bureau to begin discussions with the Prime Minister-designate, Luca Niculescu.

'All my colleagues expressed their outrage and disappointment that the President, instead of entrusting the premiership mandate to the PSD, continued to engage in political experiments. (...) Regarding Luca Niculescu, I have nothing but praise, he is a decent, professional individual who has demonstrated an ability to handle difficult files. However, that alone is not enough for the Romanians who PSD represents. We want to see if there is a genuine desire on the part of the Prime Minister-designate to break Romania away from the failed policies associated with Bolojan. To that end, I asked my colleagues for a broad mandate to hear what Mr. Luca Niculescu has to say. (...) It is absolutely essential to see what his economic and social vision is and whether it is compatible with the governing program prepared by the PSD,' stated PSD President Sorin Grindeanu following the meeting of the party's National Permanent Bureau.
