Latin American countries will take part in the Doing Business with Latin America Forum in Bucharest on Thursday, an event dedicated to business opportunities, investment and the development of partnerships between Romanian and Latin American companies, according to the Bucharest Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIB).

The diplomatic missions of the Republic of Argentina, the Federative Republic of Brazil, the Republic of Chile, the Republic of Colombia, the Republic of Cuba, the United Mexican States and the Republic of Peru will be represented at ambassadorial level at the forum.

'Against the backdrop of growing interest in developing economic and cooperation relations with Latin American countries, the Doing Business with Latin America Forum aims to bring concrete market access opportunities, potential investment projects and partnerships to the attention of Romanian companies, particularly in the high-tech and high-value-added products sectors. The event will include presentations on business and investment opportunities, Q&A sessions, as well as B2B meetings and networking,' the CCIB said in its invitation.

According to the same source, the forum is taking place against the backdrop of the provisional application, from May 1, 2026, of the EU-Mercosur Interim Trade Agreement, which allows for the elimination or cut of approximately 90% of reciprocal customs tariffs, facilitating trade in industrial and agricultural products before the broader Partnership Agreement is fully ratified by all EU member states.

As part of the session dedicated to business and investment opportunities, the ambassadors of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Mexico and Peru to Romania will deliver presentations.

The programme also includes a session on economic cooperation between Romania and Latin America, as well as an interactive discussion involving the ambassadors, Romanian institutions and business representatives.
