The George Emil Palade University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Sciences and Technology (UMFST) of Targu Mures announced on Friday that the registration for the ideas competition within the 'Unicity Innovation Summit 2026' end on Sunday, and five of them, in the fields of healthcare and technology, will receive funding.
'Young innovators, researchers and students still have the last three days to register their projects on the official platform of the event, unicitysummit.umfst.ro', said the representatives of UMFST Targu Mures in a social media post.
The event is organised by the George Paladi UMFST in partnership with the Romanian Business Leaders (RBL) community and it is designed for innovative projects in the fields of healthcare and technology, offering participants a chance to turn their ideas into businesses with real impact.
According to organisers, the application process is simplified, it is not necessary to own a company, a business plan or previous income, but the main condition is the existence of a solid idea with development potential.
Teams or registrants will get validation from experts, mentoring from industry leaders, and preparation sessions to deliver presentations.
Following the selection process, the best 20 teams will present their projects live, on the stage of the summit, which will take place between November 25-26 in Târgu Mures, and at the end of the event, five winning teams will sign financing memoranda directly on stage with potential investors.
The 'Unicity Innovation Summit 2026' project aims to create a direct bridge between local research ideas and investors' capital. AGERPRES (RO - editing by: Dorina Matis; EN - writing by: Corneliu-Aurelian Colceriu)
