Prince Radu took part on Friday evening, in Bistrita, in a meeting with the organisers and sponsors of the Invictus Heroes Half Marathon, now in its fourth edition and scheduled for 23 May.
His Royal Highness said he felt 'lucky' to attend the event and believes that the thousands of people who have joined the competition, through their presence or involvement, represent 'an occasion for hope and for great pride'.

'I am very lucky to be able to be with you this evening. Together, we are witnessing a unique moment in Romanian society, in which people who deserve everything prefer to remain silent, to remain shy, modest, discreet, profound, and to do their duty towards themselves, their families and society in such an exemplary way. And the fact that these people have so many friends and that they have convinced many thousands of people to join them is an occasion for hope and for great pride. I thank you for everything you do for them and I hope to see you again each time, offering such a beautiful example to today's Romania,' Prince Radu said.

Prince Radu is expected on Saturday morning to give the start of the first race of the Invictus Heroes Half Marathon, in Bistrita's Central Square.
The meeting on Friday evening was also attended by the president of the Invictus Bistrita Association, Florin Boc (the initiator of the competition); half-marathon ambassadors Ionut Rada and Adrian Maniutiu, members of Invictus Romania; the president of the National Association Honoring the Heroes Memory, Corneliu Postu; the commander of the 81st Mechanised Brigade of Bistrita, Ciprian Balica; Bistrita mayor Gabriel Lazany; vice-president of the Bistrita-Nasaud County Council, Claudiu Tamas; and representatives of partner institutions and sponsors.
The organisers of the Invictus Heroes Half Marathon hosted by the city of Bistrita since 2023, expect a record turnout this year of more than 2,000 participants, including military personnel from the United Kingdom, Lithuania, France, Belgium, Ukraine and Spain.
