The Botosani Tribunal rejected, on Friday, as unfounded, an action by former judge Lăcramioara Axinte, who asked the University of Bucharest to make public information regarding President Nicusor Dan's studies.

The action against the University of Bucharest was opened in February of this year, the former magistrate invoking the provisions of Law 544/2001 in the action requesting the communication of information of public interest.

'The solution in short: Rejects the action, as unfounded. With appeal. Pronounced by making the solution available to the parties, through the court registry,' according to the court portal, portal.just.ro.

The court action was initiated after the former judge was dissatisfied with the response he received through administrative channels from the University of Bucharest.

Axinte wants to know whether Nicusor Dan was enrolled as a student at the Faculty of Mathematics between 1989-1992 and whether he completed his studies at the University of Bucharest. She requests, through the court, that the university provide her with a copy of both the president's transcript and his bachelor's degree.

'We all have the right to know the truth about the studies done by the current president of Romania. There are some inconsistencies, both on the official website of the electoral campaign, in which he states that he graduated from the Faculty of Mathematics of the University of Bucharest. The inconsistency is between this personal statement on the website, because it is in the first person singular, and the inconsistencies in the CV available on the website of the Chamber of Deputies. You will see that there are some studies that overlap. During the same time frame, he was also a student at the Ecole Normale Superieur, he was also a master's student and he was also a doctoral student. Then we also saw the way in which the certificate of equivalence of a French advanced studies diploma with a Romanian bachelor's degree was obtained,' declared Lacramioara Axinte.

The former judge was proposed by the Alliance for the Unity of Romanians for a position as a judge at the Constitutional Court of Romania.AGERPRES (RO - writing by: Cristian Lupascu, editing by: Karina Olteanu; EN - writing by: Catalin Cristian Trandafir)
