Road workers from the Brasov Regional Directorate for Roads and Bridges used snow-clearing equipment on the Transfagarasan road, where heavy snow fell overnight from Tuesday to Wednesday.
According to representatives of the Brasov Regional Directorate for Roads and Bridges, traffic on the road was moving in winter conditions on Wednesday morning.
'We intervened with two vehicles and more than 5 tonnes of salt to clear the road, but traffic is still moving in winter conditions, particularly in the alpine area around Balea Lac. Given that the weather is expected to remain the same over the coming days, we urge drivers planning to travel on the Transfagarasan to check the traffic conditions and not to set off unless they are prepared to drive in winter conditions,' representatives of the Brasov Regional Directorate for Roads and Bridges said on Wednesday.
