President Nicusor Dan on Thursday nominated MEP Siegfried Muresan for the prime minister office.
On Thursday, Nicusor Dan held consultations at Cotroceni Palace with the leaders and representatives of the political parties and formations represented in Parliament.
The President said he was waiting for Siegfried Muresan to accept the request.
"I spoke to Mr Muresan and he asked me for some time to think about it. Mr Muresan remains my first option and I am waiting for him to confirm or reject it before publishing the decree in the Official Journal," the head of state said.
