The Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR) will not vote for any government it is not part of, party President George Simion said on Thursday after the consultations at the Cotroceni Palace with the head of state on the nomination of a candidate for the office of Prime Minister.
'On June 23, when we were here as well [for consultations at the Cotroceni Palace], I said, and I will say it once again: the AUR will not vote for any government it is not part of. I put the solutions on the table for Nicusor Dan. It cannot be done without the AUR. It is time for both him and Sorin Grindeanu to stop demonising our party,' Simion said.
The AUR leader said he would not respond to 'pressure.' 'Our position is unwavering, we will not sell out, we will not give in to any pressure,' he mentioned.
'The millions of Romanians who put their trust in us must be represented in the leadership structures,' George Simion added. AGERPRES (RO - writing by: Oana Ghita; EN - writing by: Rodica State)
