President Nicusor Dan welcomed President of Eurogroup and Minister of Economy and Finance of the Hellenic Republic Kyriakos Pierrakakis on Friday, at the Cotroceni Palace.

'It's good that you are here, it's good that we have a good relationship,' the head of state told him, according to footage released by the Presidential Administration.

In his turn, Kyriakos Pierrakakis evoked the bilateral relations.

The Minister of Economy and Finance of the Hellenic Republic highlighted the Greek diaspora in Romania, saying he was very proud of it. He said his best friend is half-Romanian, and mentioned that the Greek Prime Minister asked him to convey his greetings. The high official expressed his hope for future collaboration, highlighting the country's phenomenal technology industry ecosystem.

The members of the Eurogroup are the finance and economy ministers of the countries that are part of the euro area.

This summer, the Eurogroup adopted its work programme through June 2027, setting out its priorities for the coming months. The programme focuses on boosting competitiveness and strengthening economic sovereignty, responding to emerging economic challenges, including energy and artificial intelligence, mobilising capital through financial integration and strengthening the international, digital and strategic role of the euro.
