A 26-year-old woman who was hiking in the Retezat Mountains with a group of Dutch tourists was airlifted by helicopter from the Zanoaga Lake area on Wednesday after falling and suffering a severe leg injury.
'The tourist apparently went to get some water and slipped, seriously injuring one of her legs. The incident occurred on Tuesday, but it was only reported today. Because the location is very remote and the route is extremely difficult and arduous, the mountain rescuers who reached the scene requested helicopter support to transport the victim to hospital,' Ovidiu Bodean, head of the Hunedoara County Mountain Rescue Service Salvamont, told AGERPRES.
The tourist was airlifted by a helicopter from Brasov and taken to the Emergency Department of the Deva County Emergency Hospital for treatment. AGERPRES (RO - writing by: Sorin Blada; EN - writing by: Simona Klodnischi)
