President Nicusor Dan will welcome European Council President Antonio Costa at Cotroceni Presidential Palace on Thursday.

According to the Presidential Administration, the European Council president will be welcomed by the head of state in the Hall of Honour at Cotroceni Palace.

The two will hold a tête-à-tête meeting followed by official talks and will hold a joint press conference at the end.

According to Antonio Costa's official agenda, he will also travel to Sofia and Athens on the same day, where he will be welcomed by Bulgarian Prime Minister Ruman Radev and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis respectively.

Antonio Costa was also in Bucharest in September last year. At the time, he stressed that 'Romania is a key element for European security.'
