Interim Foreign Affairs Minister Oana Toiu will attend the informal meeting of EU foreign affairs ministers (Gymnich) in Wicklow, Ireland, on Tuesday and Wednesday, the country holding the Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

According to a Foreign Affairs Ministry (MAE) release sent to AGERPRES, counterparts from Canada, Switzerland, Iceland, Norway, the UK and Ukraine have also been invited to join the discussion.

The first session will address the EU's response to Russia's aggression against Ukraine and the escalation of the conflict, with a focus on the expansion of security incidents in the Black Sea and the impact on grain exports and global food security, support for Ukraine and measures to limit Russia's ability to continue its war of aggression, the quoted source mentioned.

The second session will focus on improving EU action on the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP), including enhancing efficiency, reforming the institutional framework, working methods and decision-making processes, the MAE said.

Moreover, the EU's priorities at the 81st UN General Assembly will also be addressed, particularly support for UN reform and multilateralism.

The third session will be devoted to the situation in the Middle East and developments regarding freedom of navigation, support for Lebanon, implementation of the Gaza Peace Plan and the deterioration of the situation in the West Bank, the MAE informed.
