The Jewish Community of Oradea is organising a new edition of Jewish Culture Days from September 4 to 6, featuring theatre performances, concerts, Israeli dances, book presentations and tours dedicated to the city's Jewish heritage.

According to a press release, the programme begins on Friday, September 4, at the Sion Neolog Synagogue, with the performance Little and Mean, presented by the State Jewish Theatre of Bucharest, starring Maia Morgenstern and Valentin Rosca. The evening continues on the Cri?ul Promenade with a concert by the Pressburger Klezmer Band from Bratislava.

Saturday's programme includes the Shabbat Shacharit prayer, the Ask the Rabbi meeting, a guided tour of Jewish Oradea, an Israeli dance performance by the Or Neurim group, and a concert by the Zoltan Tordai Band from Hungary.

On the festival's final day, Sunday, September 6, the public is invited to the performance The Marriage Proposal, presented by Oradea's Mongrado theatre group, a meeting with writer Catalin Mihuleac and the Jewish Musical Sonnets recital by Rock Filarmonica Oradea. The evening will end with concerts by Daphna Levy & Menachem Zibziner and The Klezmer Band of JCC Oradea.

The event is organised by the Jewish Community of Oradea and Visit Oradea, in partnership with Oradea City Hall, the Federation of Jewish Communities in Romania - Mosaic Faith, and JDC Romania.

The organisers say the festival aims to bring Jewish heritage and culture to public attention and create a space for meeting, dialogue and mutual understanding between the community and the city.
