A thematic route that includes the Dacian fortress of Banita and the Banitei Gorges (Hunedoara County), some of the most spectacular in Romania, will open to tourists starting August 1, with a medium level of difficulty and can be completed in about 40 minutes, at a leisurely pace.

'The route is fabulous because it goes through the Banitei Gorges. Basically, our goal is to connect the two objectives in the first stage - the Banitei Gorges to the Dacian fortress at Banita, and, in the second stage, to the Bolii Cave. All these tourist attractions must be promoted together, from my point of view, because they are extremely valuable and very close in terms of geography and location, in the same municipality, all the way to the end', Liliana Tolas, the manager of the Deva Museum of Dacian and Roman Civilization (MCDR), told AGERPRES on Friday.

The route is 0.57 km long, with an estimated travel time of approximately 40 minutes, with a difference in elevation of 104 m and a medium degree of difficulty.

Access to the fortress involves crossing the Banitei Gorges and continuing the route through the forest, on a sloping road.

For a pleasant and safe experience, tourists are advised to equip themselves appropriately, to respect the markings and indications on the route, but also to protect the cultural heritage and the natural environment.

Entry to this route is free, and those who wish to be accompanied up to the fortress can ask for help from one of the security agencies there.
