Medias is being positioned as the main development hub for Rheinmetall Group in Romania and as a catalyst for strengthening the national defence industry, Rheinmetall Automecanica said in a statement on Friday.
On July 21, the company hosted its Business Partner Day, bringing together more than 90 leading Romanian companies, potential future strategic partners of the Group. The event marked a key step in expanding cooperation with Romanian industry and in building a competitive industrial ecosystem dedicated to defence.
During the event, Rheinmetall Automecanica CEO Nick Stirban presented the development vision for the Medias Strategic Hub, through which the city is set to consolidate its role as the future centre of Germany's defence industry in Romania and a strategic reference point on Europe's industrial map.
The initiative aims to make Medias the Group's principal development pole in Romania and a driver for advancing the national defence sector.
The event gathered representatives of public authorities, the National Defence Company Romarm, business leaders, defence-industry stakeholders, partner institutions and media, providing a platform to outline development objectives, collaboration opportunities and prospects for expanding Romania's industrial capabilities.
Romarm director general Razvan-Marian Pircalabescu expressed support for strengthening the strategic partnership with Rheinmetall and for consolidating the national defence industry through industrial cooperation and long-term investment.
Presentations highlighted local investments, Rheinmetall Automecanica's integration into the Group's international production network, and plans for expanding production, maintenance, services and supply-chain capabilities needed to support current and future defence programmes.
By developing the Medias industrial platform, the company is reinforcing its presence in Romania and contributing to the growth of national industrial capabilities, supporting the integration of Romanian suppliers into Rheinmetall's international supply chain and fostering long-term strategic partnerships.
