One person required medical care and was taken to hospital after the collision of two vehicles on Iuliu Maniu Boulevard on Thursday, the Bucharest Traffic Police reported.

Judicial sources told AGERPRES that the person taken to hospital is believed to be Senator Diana Sosoaca, who was a passenger in one of the vehicles involved.

The accident occurred at 14:35, when the Traffic Police were notified via the 112 emergency line.

'According to preliminary information, the 49-year-old driver of a vehicle travelling on Iuliu Maniu Boulevard from Lujerului Street toward Apusului Street, collided with a vehicle in front of him, driven by a 23-year-old man. (...) As a result of the accident, a 50-year-old passenger required medical care and was transported to hospital,' the Traffic Police said.

Both drivers tested negative for alcohol.
