The documentary film 'Old New Villages', which captures the traditions of Maramures through the eyes of foreign researchers, was screened at the ASTRA Multicultural event, the 'Liviu Borlan' Maramures County Centre for the Preservation and Promotion of Traditional Culture informs on Wednesday.

According to the same source, the film showcases traditional Maramures cuisine and architecture at Hanu Lu Cobala in Budesti, as well as the culinary traditions and research conducted by French anthropologist Claude Karnoouh and British writer William Blacker during the communist period and after the Revolution of 1989 in the Breb village.

The documentary was made by Corina Isabella Csiszar, while the filming, editing and sound were handled by Florin Avram.

The film was presented as part of ASTRA Multicultural - an event highlighting Romania's cultural diversity through traditional music and dance workshops, authentic craft workshops, a multi-ethnic gastronomic marathon and a seminar hosted by the ASTRA Museum in Sibiu.
