The acting Minister of Health, Cseke Attila, declared on Wednesday, after the meeting with representatives of the trade unions in the field regarding the draft of the new law on salaries in the public sector, that his objective is to find solutions by which the incomes of the personnel are not diminished, in parallel with the reform of the salary system.

'My mandate, including the political one, remains unchanged: to find solutions by which the incomes of the health personnel are not diminished. At the same time, we have the responsibility to build a more equitable, more transparent salary system that better responds to the needs and particularities of the public health system', said Cseke Attila, according to a press release from the Ministry of Health.

He pointed out that the Ministry of Health submitted its proposals for amending and supplementing the Pay Law at the beginning of the week.

'Before the meeting with the representatives of the trade unions, I had a very good and constructive discussion with Minister Dragos Pislaru, and an important part of the proposals formulated by the Ministry of Health were taken over in the form currently in work. Among the measures on which there is an agreement are the increase in the bonus for on-call duty in emergency structures, from 20% to 30%, the introduction of a pilot program for the salary of medical personnel based on performance criteria, both in units subordinated to the Ministry of Health and in those administered by local public authorities, as well as the revision of the method of granting bonuses for dangerous conditions', stated Cseke Attila.

He mentioned that the Ministry of Health's proposal is for these increases to be established on minimum and maximum intervals, differentiated according to specialty and the specifics of the activity, so that the rules are clear, predictable and adapted to the realities of each field.

Cseke Attila stated that the discussions would continue on Thursday, at a technical level, to clarify some aspects that require additional analysis, including regarding the inclusion in the increase ceiling for units subordinated to the Ministry of Health. Last but not least, he added that it is important that the final solutions are both sustainable from a budgetary point of view and fair for the personnel in the health system.
