Dangerous hydrometeorological phenomena caused damage on Monday in 14 settlements in three counties - Bacau, Prahova and Vaslui, and at the moment the intervention for pumping out water from households and removing alluvium in Prahova is still underway, according to the General Emergency Management Inspectorate (IGSU).
'First responders acted to evacuate water from 41 houses, 38 courtyards, 16 cellars, remove some construction elements from the roofs of two buildings and clear 18 fallen trees, with two vehicles being damaged,' according to centralised data with IGSU.
Significant effects were recorded in Prahova County, within the radius of the towns of Breaza and Comarnic, where due to the leaks from the slopes and alluviums, a flood was formed on DN 1 that blocked road traffic.
At the same time, at Cornu - there was a slope collapse, which blocked both directions of travel on DN 1. A van with two people was damaged, fortunately they did not require medical attention. Road traffic was blocked on national road DN 1 due to water and alluvium that piled up on the road, as well as fallen trees.
Currently, there are no reported stranded people or medical emergencies that cannot be dealt with due to hydrometeorological phenomena.
Monitoring of the developments in hydrometeorological phenomena continues, with the operational teams of the Ministry of Internal Affairs being ready to respond to protect the population and contain the effects of the severe weather of late.
