President Nicusor Dan participated in Kyiv in the ceremony marking Ukrainian Statehood Day and in the Ukraine - Southeast Europe Summit, where he 'firmly' condemned Russia's 'dangerous' instrumentalization of history.

'On this occasion, I firmly condemned Russia's dangerous instrumentalization of history and reaffirmed our support for Ukraine's internationally recognized borders and its territorial integrity, as well as our commitment to its long-term stability and security,' the head of state wrote on X.

The Romanian president added that numerous ethnic, linguistic and religious communities have shaped Ukraine's identity throughout history and represent an integral part of its heritage and legacy.

'By celebrating Ukraine's Statehood, we confirm a fundamental truth: Ukraine existed, Ukraine exists, and Ukraine will continue to exist. As a neighbor, true friend, and strategic partner of Ukraine, Romania can assert with full conviction that the recognition of a nation's authentic history is essential for its dignity, for its sovereignty, and for maintaining a stable international order,' Nicusor Dan underscored.
