Ankara - AGERPRES special correspondent Oana Ghita reports: President Nicusor Dan had a bilateral meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney on Wednesday on the sidelines of the NATO Summit, describing Canada as 'one of Romania's closest and most reliable partners.'
'Canada is one of Romania's closest and most reliable partners. Our cooperation in the nuclear energy area is excellent and offers significant potential for further development. We want to strengthen this cooperation and build on Romania's experience in using Canadian technology, including by sharing this expertise across the region. We will continue to develop the Enhanced Partnership between Romania and Canada and fully harness the opportunities it offers for the benefit of our citizens and of a strong transatlantic Alliance,' the president wrote on Facebook.
He said he had invited Carney to Bucharest and had, in turn, accepted an invitation to pay an official visit to Canada. AGERPRES (RO - editing by: Florin Marin; EN - writing by: Adina Panaitescu)
