Tourists and locals are invited to a unique event on July 9 in the Tomis Port, to a fish soup prepared in a cauldron with a capacity of one tonne, offered free of charge at the longest table, over 450 meters long, located overlooking the sea.
The employers' organization RESTO announced on Thursday that the restaurants in the Tomis Port intend to 'make history' by preparing an impressive fish soup with sturgeon, which will be cooked in a special cauldron with a capacity of one tonne.
'Visitors will discover the longest fish food table ever organized in Constanta - a table of over 450 meters, which will surround the Tomis Port and will bring together over 600 people - in an experience dedicated to the community, gastronomy and fishing traditions. Access is free, it will be limited to the available places and the organizers invite the people of Constanta and tourists to take part in an event that celebrates the maritime identity of the city and the spirit of the community', according to the press release sent by RESTO.
The preparation of the soup will start in the middle of the night, so that, at 11:00 - the official opening moment of the event, it will be ready to be served to the participants.
'Following the Dobrogea Gastronomic Week, a program that we ran with enormous public success a few days ago, we invite the public to a new event, also a first. We are expecting the people of Constanta, tourists and visitors to Constanta and the Romanian Seaside to a fish soup, where we have also invited the travel agencies that promote and sell the Romanian Seaside Destination. At the end of last month, tourists were invited to discover the local culinary offer during the Dobrogea Gastronomic Week through an accessible format: a set menu consisting of two representative dishes, at the single price of 50 lei, available exclusively in participating restaurants, cafes, bistros, fast food and confectioneries.
