Major Archbishop Claudiu Lucian Pop of the Romanian Greek-Catholic Church attended on Monday the inauguration of the 'Blessed Cardinal Iuliu Hossu' Museum in Cluj-Napoca, located inside the Cathedral of the 20th Century Martyrs and Confessors in Cipariu Square.
The inauguration followed the Arch-hierarchical Divine Liturgy celebrated on the feast of Saints Peter and Paul, in the presence of Archbishop Claudiu.
'This museum offers foundation and grounding for the present and future society on its path of becoming. Any visitor will discover a space of encounter across time with Blessed Cardinal Iuliu Hossu,' Archbishop Claudiu-Lucian Pop said.
According to representatives of the Greek-Catholic Church, the museum is designed as a modern exhibition route that reconstructs the life, pastoral mission and testimony of faith of the martyred bishop, including his years of imprisonment and persecution under communism. The project follows recent major milestones - the centenary of the Great Union, the beatification of the martyred bishops and the Year dedicated to Cardinal Iuliu Hossu - strengthening historical and spiritual memory.
The exhibits include several personal items belonging to Iuliu Hossu, such as his hat, cassock and other garments, alongside liturgical objects, documents, archival photographs and manuscripts illustrating his life and work.
