Romanian President Nicusor Dan on Saturday attended a meeting in Jurata, Poland, with Polish President Karol Nawrocki and the presidents of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania to discuss European security, strengthening defence, energy security and critical infrastructure.

'Today, in Jurata, Poland, together with Presidents Karol Nawrocki, Alar Karis, Edgars Rinkevics and Gitanas Nauseda, we had an interesting exchange of ideas and views from Romania, Poland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania on security in Europe, strengthening defence and deterrence on NATO's Eastern Flank, as well as reinforcing infrastructure and energy security. We also examined the best ways to prepare our countries for future challenges,' Nicusor Dan wrote on Facebook.

The Romanian president also said the discussions reflected the participants' shared determination to act responsibly to strengthen regional security.

'The discussions highlighted our common determination to act responsibly for the security of our region and of the European Union as a whole.
