Meteorologists issued a Code Yellow warning for unstable weather on Wednesday, valid throughout the day in areas across 23 counties in Moldavia, Dobrogea, Muntenia, Transylvania and Oltenia.

According to the National Meteorological Administration (ANM), on Wednesday between 12:00 and 21:00, in northern Oltenia and Dobrogea, northern and north-eastern Muntenia, southern Moldavia and most mountainous areas, periods of atmospheric instability are expected, with torrential showers, lightning, wind gusts reaching 50-70 km/h and, in isolated areas, storms and small to medium hail (1-4 cm).

Moreover, within short intervals (one to three hours) or through accumulation, rainfall amounts will reach 15-25 litres/sq m and, in isolated areas, will exceed 40-50 litres/sq m.

The counties affected by the Code Yellow warning are the following: Tulcea, Braila, Galati, Ialomita, Vrancea, Buzau, Prahova, Dambovita, Arges, Valcea, Gorj, Mehedinti, Caras-Severin, Hunedoara, Alba, Cluj, Sibiu, Brasov, Covasna, Harghita, Suceava, Neamt and Bacau.
