Romania receives fourth payment worth 2.25 billion euro under Recovery and Resilience Facility

The European Commission disbursed to Romania grants worth 2.25 billion euro on Tuesday, marking the country's fourth payment under the Recovery and Resilience Facility, the central component of NextGenerationEU, the Commission's post-pandemic programme designed to support member states' recovery, economic growth and competitiveness, according to a press release.

Today's payment of 2.25 billion euro (net of pre-financing) follows a favourable opinion from the Economic and Financial Committee. Romania's Recovery and Resilience Plan is financed with 21.41 billion euro, of which 13.57 billion euro is provided in grants and 7.84 billion euro in loans.
