Firefighters intervened on Tuesday in 16 localities in Arges, Caras Severin, Dolj, Hunedoara, Olt, Sibiu and Timis counties to eliminate the effects of storms, informs the Department for Emergency Situations (DSU).



In two localities in Dolj county, 22 people were preventively evacuated from the areas affected by the meteorological phenomena.

The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU) decided to supplement the forces at ISU Dolj with two intervention trucks, two first intervention and command vehicles, 6 motor pumps and 12 staff from ISU Arges.

At the same time, during Tuesday, intervention forces acted, in total in the seven counties mentioned, to evacuate water from two houses, 39 yards, 12 cellars/basements, an annex, 16 streets, to remove construction elements from two buildings and to clear 13 fallen trees on the roadway, damaging a vehicle, the cited source informs.

The structures of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are permanently monitoring the evolution of the operational situation and are prepared to intervene to protect the population and limit the effects generated by the forecasted meteorological phenomena, the DSU press release also mentions.
