PNL Congress/ Ilie Bolojan re-elected as PNL President

Ilie Bolojan was re-elected on Sunday as President of the National Liberal Party (PNL) at the PNL Extraordinary Congress.

Following the vote cast by the Liberal delegates, Bolojan received 1,769 votes in favour.

A total of 1,886 delegates were present at the Congress, with 1,842 votes cast. Of these, 44 were annulled and 73 declared invalid.

After the announcement of the result, Ilie Bolojan thanked the PNL delegates for their support and for attending in Bucharest.

'Thank you for your support, for your encouragement! Thank you for coming from across the country today to Bucharest! Have a safe journey back to your counties,' Bolojan conveyed.

He announced that, after the Congress, the party leadership's activity will continue at the PNL headquarters, where a meeting of the National Permanent Bureau is scheduled take place. AGERPRES (RO - writing by: Gina Stefan; EN - writing by: Rodica State)
