The volume of construction works increased by 11.7% in the first four months of the year in as gross series, and by 10.3% as series adjusted according to the number of working days and seasonality, compared with the period from 1 January to 30 April 2025, according to the National Institute of Statistics (INS) data sent to AGERPRES on Thursday.
Thus, in the period under review, the increase in construction output as gross series was driven by new construction works (+13.8%), maintenance and current repair works (+12.2%) and major repair works (+1.9%).
By type of construction, increases were recorded in civil engineering works (+14.4%), residential buildings (+12.7%) and non-residential buildings (+5.7%).
As adjusted series, the volume of construction works increased as follows: new construction works (+12.9%), maintenance and current repair works (+10.2%) and major repair works (+1.5%).
By type of construction, increases were recorded in residential buildings (+12.8%), civil engineering works (+10.2%) and non-residential buildings (+5.7%).
In April 2026 compared with March of the same year, the volume of construction works increased by 14% as gross series, driven by major repair works (+17.3%), maintenance and current repair works (+17.1%) and new construction works (+12.6%).
By type of construction, increases were recorded as follows: residential buildings (+15.8%), civil engineering works (+13.9%) and non-residential buildings (+12.9%).
The volume of construction works increased, as series adjusted according to the number of working days and seasonality by 10.2%, an increase highlighted in new construction works (13.4%), major repair works (+12.9%) and maintenance and current repair works (+6.3%).
By type of construction, the volume of construction works increased in non-residential buildings (+12.8%), civil engineering works (+12.2%) and residential buildings (+8.6%).
In April 2026 compared with the same month last year, the volume of construction works rose overall by 20.7% as gross series.
By type of structure, increases were recorded in new construction works (+24.4%), maintenance and current repair works (+21.2%) and major repair works (+3.9%).
By type of construction, construction output increased in civil engineering works (+27.5%), non-residential buildings (+17%) and residential buildings (+8.8%).
In seasonally and working-day adjusted series, the total volume of construction works rose by 20.3%.
By type of structure, increases were recorded as follows: new construction works (+28%), maintenance and current repair works (+19.8%) and major repair works (+5.9%).
