The National Liberal Party (PNL) leadership on Monday reaffirmed, through a vote, the party's previous decision not to join a government together with the Social Democratic Party (PSD).

'Vote against governing with the PSD reaffirmed: 39 in favour, 10 against, five abstentions,' Robert Sighiartau, a member of the PNL National Political Bureau, announced in a Facebook post.

The PNL National Political Bureau convened at 5:00 p.m. on Monday to decide on the situation created by the nomination of first vice-president Adrian Vestea for the position of prime minister. Lawmakers, county-seat mayors and county council presidents who are not members of the party's leadership were also invited to attend the meeting.
