Interim Foreign Affairs Minister Oana Toiu will participate in the General Affairs Council (GAC) meeting taking place in Brussels on Tuesday, the Foreign Affairs Ministry (MAE) informed.

According to MAE, Oana Toiu will be accompanied by Secretary of State for European Affairs, Middle East and Africa Clara Staicu.

The meeting agenda includes a political debate on the 2028-2034 Multiannual Financial Framework, with a focus on the manner in which the future European budget can contribute to the Single Market integration.

Moreover, ministers and secretaries of state for European Affairs from EU member states will have an opinion exchange on the preparation of the European Council meeting of 18 to 19 June, will talk about the stage of the EU relations with the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and will have a new round of dialogue on the country reports concerning the rule of law.

On the GAC sidelines, a working lunch is scheduled to take place focusing the European Commission's 2026 strategic forecast report, which will provide the opportunity of a discussion on the future of the European Union in a changing world.
