Meteorologists on Monday issued an information of atmospheric instability, moderate showers in quantity, but also of hot spells, valid until Thursday morning in most of Romania.

According to the National Weather Administration (ANM), between August 24, 10:00 a.m. and August 27, 10:00 a.m., there will be unstable weather in the Southern and Curvature Carpathians, and in the evening and in the early hours of the night from Monday to Tuesday in the south-east of Oltenia, in most of Muntenia and in the south of Moldavia, on Tuesday (August 25) in the mountainous areas, in the southwest and centre, and in the evening and at night and in the rest of the country.

At the same time, on Wednesday (August 26), atmospheric instability will be expected especially in the centre, south and east of the country, with moderate showers, electrical discharges, short-term intensification of the wind and sparse storms (gust speeds generally of 50 - 55 km/h) as well as small and medium sized hail (1 - 3 cm). Rain will also be torrential, with water on the ground to reach 15 - 20 litres/sqm, sparsely exceeding 35 - 40 litres/sqm.

According to meteorologists, the weather will be warm in most regions, hot in small areas, on Monday and Tuesday, in the south and south-west, where thermal discomfort will be high, and the temperature-humidity index (THI) will reach critical 80.
