Salaj County will be promoted through photography from August 28 to September 3 as part of the ninth edition of the 'Salaj. Beauty, Tradition, Story' photography camp, an event bringing together photographers from Romania and abroad.
The camp is organised by the Salaj County Centre for Culture and Art, through its manager Daniel Sauca, the Foto Club Varadinum Oradea Association and the 'Tara Silvaniei' Intercommunity Development Association.
This year's edition will feature internationally renowned photographers from Luxembourg, the United Kingdom, Spain, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Greece, Ukraine, the Republic of Moldova and Romania. They will capture Salaj's natural, cultural and ethnographic heritage, with the photographs to be promoted both on social media and through the photographers' participation in international photography salons.
According to the organisers, Salaj County has significant tourism potential thanks to the diversity of its attractions and heritage. These include wooden churches, heritage monuments, museums, landscapes and nature reserves, as well as local traditions and crafts.
'Salaj. Beauty, Tradition, Story' aims to bring together not only photographers from Romania and abroad, but also prominent members of the local community in an effort to highlight the county's identity and distinctive character.
'The aim of the camp is to promote Salaj County by showcasing its ethnographic, geographical and cultural areas, with an emphasis on those elements that can help increase the region's tourism appeal,' the organisers said in a press release issued on Wednesday.
