Tennis player Radu Mihai Papoe won the ITF tournament in Pitesti (M25), the Comesad BCR Open, with prizes worth 30,000 USD, on Sunday after beating Stefan Adrian Andreescu 6-3, 6-2 in the final.
Papoe (aged 23, ATP's 385th), the second seed, secured victory after one hour and 29 minutes.
Papoe has won all five of his previous meetings with Stefan Adrian Andreescu (aged 24, ATP's 664th), the sixth seed in Pitesti.
The Pitesti title is the 10th of Papoe's career (all at ITF level), as he enjoys the best year of his career, with six trophies, including three M25 titles.
The doubles title was won by Romanian pair Stefan Horia Haita/Radu David Turcanu, the second seeds, who defeated main seeds Oleksandr Ovcearenko (Ukraine)/Riccardo Perin (Italy) 2-6, 6-2, 10-5 in Saturday's final. AGERPRES (RO - editing by: Mihai Tenea; EN - writing by: Rodica State)
