Authorities have declared a nationwide state of alert in Romania for the month of August due to a drop in electricity production, interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan announced on Friday.
'We have declared a state of alert at the national level for the month of August due to a drop in electricity generation caused by the drought and low water levels—both in rivers and, especially, in the Danube,' stated Bolojan, who also serves as interim Minister of Energy.
