Managers expect activity to remain stable in the manufacturing industry and retail trade over the next three months, as well as a moderate increase in the number of employees in retail trade and higher prices across all these segments, but also in construction and services, according to the National Institute of Statistics (INS) data published on Tuesday.

According to the quoted source, in manufacturing, the results of the survey conducted in July indicate that until September a relative stability in production volumes is expected, reflected by a confidence balance of -2%.

Regarding the number of employees, relative stability is also expected, with the confidence balance standing at -5%, while industrial product prices could increase, a trend indicated by a confidence balance of +20%.

In the construction sector, managers forecast a moderate increase in production volumes (confidence balance +13%), as well as a relative stability in the number of employees (confidence balance +2%). In addition, construction work prices are expected to increase, a situation reflected by a confidence balance of +36%.

In retail trade, a relative stability in turnover is forecast (confidence balance +5%) over the next three months, while employers anticipate a moderate increase in the number of employees (confidence balance +8%). At the same time, price increases are expected by 38% of respondents, while only 6% anticipate price decreases, with an overall confidence balance of +32% indicating price rises.

According to the INS, in the services sector, managers anticipate stable demand, with a confidence balance of +1%. At the same time, the number of employees is expected to remain stable over the next three months (confidence balance -3%).
