Romania's Under-19 teams won silver medals on Tuesday at the European Youth Table Tennis Championships in Gondomar, Portugal, according to the Romanian Table Tennis Federation website.
In the boys' competition, Romania lost 3-0 to France in the final. Robert Istrate was defeated 3-0 (11-8, 11-4, 11-7) by Nathan Lam, Robert Podar lost 3-0 (11-7, 11-7, 12-10) to Nathan Pilard and Andrei Tibirna was defeated 3-0 (14-12, 11-7, 11-4) by Antoine Noirault.
Romania's team also included Mihai Nagy and Luca Trascu.
In the girls' competition, Romania also lost 3-0 to France. Bianca Mei-Rosu was beaten 3-0 (11-6, 11-9, 11-9) by Alexia Nodin, Alesia Sferlea lost 3-0 (11-9, 11-4, 11-9) to Nina Guo Zheng, while Patricia Stoica was defeated 3-2 (11-7, 8-11, 9-11, 11-4, 11-9) by Leana Hochart.
The team also included Andreea Baiasu and Maria Stoian.
At the 2025 European Youth Championships in Ostrava, the Czech Republic, Romania won two gold, two silver and four bronze medals.
