President Nicusor Dan will attend the 5th Ukraine-Southeast Europe Summit on Wednesday in Kyiv, according to the Presidential Administration.

According to the quoted source, the visit to Kyiv comes following the invitation extended by Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The Ukraine- Southeast Europe Summit is a format launched in 2023, in the context of Russia's aggression war against Ukraine. This is a regional platform for supporting Ukraine and jointly combating the complex effects of the war and the consequences over the wider region, which shares common interests in security, economy, energy and infrastructure connectivity, resilience and countering hybrid threats.

The participation of Romania's President in this Summit proves once again Romania's solidarity with Ukraine and its unequivocal support for the country's independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity, the Presidential Administration said.

On this occasion, President Nicusor Dan will also reconfirm Romania's commitment to further provide assistance to Ukraine and to contribute to strengthening security and resilience in the Black Sea region and Southeast Europe. The Summit is also important in terms of supporting the European path of Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova and will also address regional connectivity, energy security and resilience.
