President of the Social Democratic Party (PSD) Sorin Grindeanu said on Monday that he told the National Liberal Party (PNL) and the Save Romania Union (USR) within the consultations at the Cotroceni Palace 'a simple fact' - that the PSD is in opposition.
'I told the PNL and the USR a simple fact - the PSD is in opposition. Perhaps they forgot or perhaps they did not fully understand the situation. The PSD holds no positions in the Government,' Grindeanu said at Parliament.
He added that the strategy of dismissed Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan 'to govern through Parliament while putting pressure on the PSD votes is completely wrong.'
Grindeanu also said the PSD cannot agree to using the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) for the 'obscure interests of some right-wing leaders.'
'I also informed them that we will not vote for a pay law which, even today, has not been published for public consultation,' Grindeanu added.
