Romania strongly condemns hostile cyber activities carried out by groups controlled by the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation targeting European Union member states, NATO allies and their partners, including Romania, President Nicusor Dan conveyed on Monday.

The head of state stressed in a Facebook post that, alongside the European Union, Romania is sending the message that such attacks targeting public institutions, critical infrastructure and sensitive information are unacceptable.

'They are part of a broader hybrid campaign aimed at undermining the stability of our democracies, fuelling divisions within society and among allies and testing the cohesion of the European Union and NATO. Romania will continue to act together with its allies and partners to strengthen cyber security and defend the values, security and unity of the Euro-Atlantic community,' President Nicusor Dan mentioned.
