The Presidential Administration announced on Thursday that, at the NATO Summit in Ankara, President Nicusor Dan as well as the other participating leaders were each gifted by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan with a firearm and the corresponding ammunition.

'According to the export licence issued by the Ministry of National Defence of the Republic of Turkey, the weapon offered to President Dan is a Gumusay revolver, accompanied by legal provenance documents. The President of Romania's detail service took the weapon for verification, after which it was registered by the Presidential Administration, in accordance with specific procedures. The handgun will be kept by the Protection and Guard Service (SPP), based on an agreement concluded with the Presidential Administration, in compliance with the specific legal provisions,' the Presidential Administration said.
