PSD chairman Sorin Grindeanu declared on Wednesday that if he becomes prime minister and if there is fiscal space respecting Romania's agreements, he will have no hesitation in reducing VAT.
Grindeanu was asked if he would reduce VAT if he became prime minister.
'I know that these things could generate news in one form or another. First of all, I need to be updated on the fiscal situation. Obviously, if I find myself in a situation where there is fiscal space respecting Romania's agreements, the ones I was talking about earlier, including fiscal agreements, we will do this. I have no hesitation, but respecting and if we have this fiscal space,' he said in Parliament.
The PSD National Permanent Bureau decided on Wednesday, unanimously, that the party should assume the responsibility of governing and that the Social Democrats' president, Sorin Grindeanu, should be the proposal for prime minister.AGERPRES (RO - writing by: Dana Piciu, editing by: Antonia Nita;EN - writing by: Catalin Cristian Trandafir)
