Over 2,000 people participated on Friday in a protest in Victoriei Square, organized by several civic organizations, in the context of three decisions of the Justice taken on Thursday, all of which were considered by the initiators of the protest as being against political actors who support the PNL president, interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan.

The demonstrators chanted slogans such as 'Nicusor traitor', 'PSD - red plague' and accused the judicial system 'led by Lia Savonea' as well as the 'capture of justice'.
Organized under the slogan 'We need to defend democracy', the protest appealed to citizens to take to the streets against the system that 'is fighting with all its might so that nothing changes'.

'When institutions act as if only on orders, it is a patriotic duty to protest against a captured state. When Lia calls, honest Romania takes to the streets to defend democracy. We were hundreds of thousands in the streets for Justice, NOT to corruption!', the event's Facebook page states.

The organizers of the protest were the civic organizations 'Corruption Kills', 'Resistance', 'Initiative Romania' and 'Asociatia MEA'. AGERPRES(RO - writing by: Daniel Alexandru Florea; EN - writing by: Bogdan Gabaroi)
