Specialists from Spain, Germany, Greece, England and Hungary will take part in the first 'Afostodata'/'Ocen Upon a Time' Conference on Fairy Tales and Applied Storytelling, which will be held in early October in Sfantu Gheorghe, according to a press release from the organisers.

The event focuses on using stories as a tool in education, psychology and personal development and was initiated by Szabo Eniko, a writer and fairy-tale therapist.

Held in Romania for the first time, as part of the 11th edition of the International Storytelling Festival in Sfantu Gheorghe, the conference will take place under the theme 'Connection and Relationships' and is aimed at parents, teachers, psychologists, social workers, special educational psychologists, museum professionals and librarians, as well as anyone interested in using stories in educational and therapeutic contexts, particularly in work with adolescents and young people.

According to the organisers, the conference aims to provide participants with practical tools for addressing issues such as young people's search for identity and the management of conflicts, as well as for community development and supporting mental health.

'Initiated by writer and fairy-tale therapist Szabo Eniko as an integral part of the festival she founded 11 years ago, this conference is an absolute first in Romania. The aim of this professional gathering is to provide practical guidance and concrete solutions for addressing identity issues and managing conflicts among young people. It is intended for parents, educators, psychologists, social workers, special educational psychologists, museum professionals, librarians and anyone wishing to gain a better understanding of the world of adolescents,' the press release sent to AGERPRES states.

The activities will take place at Orfeum and the Bod Peter County Library in Sfantu Gheorghe. On the first day, October 3, specialists will give presentations, each lasting approximately 20 minutes.

The programme on Sunday, October 4, will include 12 practical workshops, each lasting 90 minutes and held simultaneously in different rooms.

The International Storytelling Festival programme also includes the performance 'Natures Tales', presented by Sharon Jacksties on October 2, as well as a community storytelling session around a campfire, entitled 'The Flame of Stories/Meselang', which will take place on October 3.
