The National Meteorological Administration (ANM) issued new Code Yellow warnings for unstable weather, targeting several areas in Oltenia and Muntenia over Thursday and Friday.

Thus, on Thursday, between 10:00 - 23:00, the first Code Yellow for atmospheric instability and significant rainfall will be in effect in Oltenia and most of Muntenia, as well as in mountainous areas. In these regions, heavy showers, lightning, wind intensifications, locally storms (gusts of 50 - 70 km/h) and small and medium hail will be recorded.

Also, in short intervals of time (between one and three hours) or through accumulation, rainfall amounts of 15 - 25 litres/sqm and, in isolated areas, over 30 - 40 litres/sqm are expected.

On the same day, atmospheric instability will also occur in limited areas in the rest of the country.

According to the quoted source, on Friday, 5 June, between 12:00 - 23:00, the second Code Yellow for severe weather will be in effect in the northern Eastern Carpathians and the Apuseni Mountains, where there will be periods of heavy showers, lightning, wind intensifications, locally storms (gusts of 50 - 70 km/h) and small and medium hail. In some areas, rainfall amounts will reach 15 - 25 litres/sqm, even exceeding 30 - 40 litres/sqm.
