Interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan reaffirmed on Monday evening that the PNL is willing to ensure the investiture of a government, even if it is not part of it, but that it will not govern alongside the PSD again, because it refuses to lie to Romanians with solutions that cannot possibly work.

'Since the no-confidence motion, the PSD has been demanding that I leave office immediately, even though it has offered no solution for taking over the government, a task it clearly fears. Now, it asks me to govern. That is what I am doing. With limited powers, this government is keeping Romania afloat. But the country urgently needs a government with full powers,' Ilie Bolojan wrote on his Facebook page, responding to a call from social democratic leader Sorin Grindeanu for him to govern.

In this context, Ilie Bolojan reiterated that 'the PNL is willing to ensure the investiture of a government, even if it is not part of it.'

'I outlined this, along with our commonsensical conditions, to Mr. Luca Niculescu. In the event of a technocratic government, we consider it feasible for the Prime Minister to reach an agreement with each of the parties, whereby they commit to supporting specific objectives for a set period, including the adoption of next year's budget,' Bolojan stated.

He also emphasized that 'the PNL will never attack solutions that are right for the country and will not violate an agreement it has committed to.' 'We have no chance of regaining the trust of Romanians if we do not respect one another and act responsibly. We are not the PSD. We do not consider that governing for the country means being a 'sucker' or falling into a trap,' wrote the liberal leader.

Ilie Bolojan also reaffirmed that 'the PNL will not govern alongside the PSD again, because it refuses to lie to Romanians with solutions that cannot possibly work.'

'Who would want to associate with those who have repeatedly proven that they do not honor commitments, shirk responsibility, and cause crises? The PSD criticizes the path by which this government has stabilized the country, yet asks those it ceaselessly attacks to remain in power. Our path means we have finalized the PNRR, successfully passed all rating agency evaluations, assumed responsibility, told the truth, honored our commitments, and are moving Romania forward. The PSD claims to care about the people, yet simultaneously admits it will not take over the government 'so as not to make itself vulnerable,'' Ilie Bolojan further wrote on his social media.
