A bomb alert was issued Wednesday at the Constanta Port passenger terminal, which was evacuated after a phone call claiming explosives had been placed in the area, County Prefect Adrian Picoiu announced.

'At 11:26, a 112 emergency call was recorded, through which an employee of the Romanian Naval Authority reported that an audio message in Romanian had been received on the institution's phone network regarding the existence of bombs in the Passenger Terminal area of Constanta Port. The responsible structures are conducting checks and monitoring the situation,' the prefect said.

Picoiu urged calm, stressing that authorities had found no cause for concern.
